Meet the Owners
The ownership team of Mike Denardis, Casey Degnan and Sean Degnan has strong ties to the North Carolina ultimate scene, and is proud to introduce the Raleigh Flyers for the 2018 season.
A Raleigh native, Casey is a consummate athlete and ultimate fanatic who has always dreamed of bringing professional ultimate to his hometown. The first player signed to represent the Chicago Wildfire franchise, Casey has spent the past two years learning the ins and outs of how to run an AUDL franchise: from concessions and marketing, to organizing practices and competing on one of the premier squads in the league. Casey combines his athletic zeal with his business acumen to create successful projects. While Casey committed to his professional life, he also donates a considerable amount of time to coaching and volunteer endeavors, formerly acting as a liaison for the Wildfire in the Chicago ultimate community.
One of the progenitors of the North Carolina elite ultimate scene, and an integral part of the Raleigh community, Mike is ecstatic to be a part of the Flyers’ ownership. As coach of elite open club team Ring of Fire and collegiate juggernaut University of North Carolina Darkside, Mike’s knowledge and success in the sport are rivaled by few. In conversation, his Raleigh pride is evident in almost everything that he mentions, be it the homegrown talent and inimitable culture, or the passion that unites the ultimate community. Mike works as a broker at Icap Energy LLC in Durham, and has a strong sense of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro area and its potential.
