Flyers take on reigning league champions Dallas Roughnecks on 8/12 in Cary, NC

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Raleigh Flyers, North Carolina’s professional Ultimate Frisbee team, will host the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) South Division Championship game against the Dallas Roughnecks on Saturday, August 12th at 1:00pm at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The winner will advance to AUDL Championship Weekend in Montreal, Quebec, August 26 – 27.

The Raleigh Flyers have a league-best 13-1 record this season, and earned the top playoff seed for the South Division. They’ve also consistently led the league’s Power Rankings, and have one of the league’s most efficient (and dangerous) offenses. The Flyers’ only loss this year was to the defending AUDL champion Dallas Roughnecks early in the season.

Last year, the Flyers were upset in the first round of the playoffs, losing to the Atlanta Hustle at home. This year, they hope to build on a phenomenal regular season to their second franchise appearance at Championship Weekend. Dallas defeated the Jacksonville Cannons in the first round of playoffs, and is looking to win back-to-back league titles. The two teams lead the league in goals scored, which makes this high-stakes final match up all the more interesting.

“The Flyers are looking forward to the opportunity to compete for a division title versus the Roughnecks. Our players are ready for the challenge and excited to bring an AUDL championship to the Triangle,” said Raleigh Flyers Head Coach and co-owner Mike DeNardis.

Advance tickets are available for purchase online at Fans can enter the promo code FillTheStands for $3 off their ticket, when purchased online. The first 50 fans at the gate will receive free AUDL programs and Flyers Discs provided by Select Therapy. Tickets are also available at the gate for $5 for children 13 and under and $15 for adults.

“We are thrilled to be hosting our last home game of the season at WakeMed Soccer Park. The afternoon features lots of family friendly fun and we can’t wait to share this awesome sport with the Triangle community, “ said Raleigh Flyers co-owner and General Manager Casey Degnan.

The beer garden tent at WakeMed Soccer Park will open at noon with food and drinks available for purchase throughout the game. Pre-game activities include a cornhole tournament while a DJ pumps up the crowd. Halftime entertainment includes live music and a 1000+ water balloon toss contest.
