The Flyers Return for 2017

Welcome Back Flyers Family

Welcome back Flyers family! It’s a new day for the Raleigh Flyers. For owners Casey Degnan and Mike Denardis, the team is finally the incarnation of their original vision for the franchise. The hope of Degnan and Denardis was to build a true ultimate powerhouse out of the triangle. Now, in 2017, the Flyers are reaching their potential to become the North Carolina powerhouse in the Southern Division. The jigsaw puzzle of putting together a truly deep AUDL team was less difficult thanks to the the shift of talent from Charlotte to Raleigh in the wake of the Charlotte Express folding in 2016. Eleven former Charlotte Express players have been signed by the Flyers for the 2017 AUDL Season. Merging the talent of the Flyers with the talent of the Charlotte Express has given the coaches more options of how to tackle the talented teams that now make up the AUDL southern division. In addition, the Flyers have signed several high profile athletes transplanted to North Carolina whose impact will be critical for our success in 2017.

The Flyers return to Wake Med for opening weekend v. Atlanta.

Opening day is just around the corner and there is plenty to be excited about in the AUDL South. Dallas lost some of its California stars but kept Jimmy Mickle, Kurt Gibson and Dylan Freechild, making the reigning champions a favorite to win the division. Jacksonville picked up Florida star and trick shot legend Brodie Smith alongside big defensive stud Jakeem Polk during the off-season. The new Cross Coast Challenge brings the DC Breeze home to Raleigh on April 22nd. The AUDL South is as deep as ever and every team has raised the bar. Every game matters and there is very little margin for error this season.

We will be releasing weekly content including game recaps and player profiles throughout the course of the season. Stay tuned for more news and highlights as we ramp up for opening day.
